well as the VISA Trust. The operating companies undertake
active environment protection and development, along with
a number of initiatives to improve the lives of employees
and neighbouring people. VISA Trust focuses on social development
through spreading education, providing healthcare and promoting
sports & culture.
Environment
VISA actively works towards environmental protection
and development, which is especially relevant to its
growing manufacturing activities. Environmentally friendly
technologies have been chosen with pollution levels
benchmarked internationally, and are much stricter than
norms specified by the State / Central Government.

Education
VISA sponsors a girls’ school named Smt Sarla
Devi Saraswati Balika Inter College in the Tilhar District
of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It also provides scholarships
for academic brilliance and to students who may not
otherwise be able to attend school.
Through the Kalyan Bharati Trust, VISA has also established
two premier education institutions in Kolkata:

The Heritage School is a prestigious day boarding
school for children from nursery to class 12.

Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata is a
fast expanding educational institution offering
six B-Tech courses, a MCA program, an extensive
MBA program and specialization courses.

Healthcare
VISA conducts regular medical camps in the villages
and backward districts of West Bengal and Orissa. These
camps offer free health checkups, advice on treating
common diseases and improving hygiene. VISA also sponsors
medical treatment and surgeries of poor people in the
vicinity of VISA Group’s factories.

Sports & Culture
The Trust sponsors an annual Golf Tournament at Tollygunge
Club. The Trust has been promoting Indian art and culture
through exhibitions, such as the recently held exhibition
on Patachitra paintings.
